Title: Space Invaders 3

You can come into our spaces and see the essence of the art
scene in Harlem. As one of these artists I invite you to my
open studio to discuss and enjoy the beginnings of my newest
body of work. My displayed pieces will include:

las muertas
A photographic series that visually imagines the deaths of
various prolific Latin American women writers and juxtaposes
their writing with their untimely departure.

las malas
Is a digital illustration series that explores the idea of
historically "evil" women in Latin American society
from La Malinche to the deadly Aztec goddess Coatlique.

la virgen
A photographic series that shows glimpses and moments
of La Virgen Maria though the daily life and existence of
her namesake Latina daughters.

space invaders
A social commentary installation piece regarding
the gentrification of Harlem.

Tour and shuttle starting location at:
151 West 122nd Street

Title: Julia de Burgos, Calle 105

This is a highly personal piece that is an intended homage to
the poet Julia de Burgos; however its greater purpose is a
socio-political comment on culture, feminism and Puerto Rico
through the voice of a "Nuyorican".
